Responsible Gaming
At Calgary Casino, gambling should remain fun, affordable and in your control. Here you will find the tools available to you, how changes to them take effect and where to get free, confidential help.
Keeping play in your control
1.1 We run Calgary Casino for adults who choose to gamble for entertainment, using money they can afford to lose.
1.2 Our team is trained to notice signs of harm, such as chasing losses or sudden jumps in deposits. When we see them, we contact the player by email.
1.3 We send no marketing at all while you are on a cooling-off break or self-excluded.
Protecting minors
2.1 Players must be aged 19 or over to register and play.
2.2 We accept deposits only after your identity and location are confirmed, so no account can be funded before age is verified.
2.3 Visit our Age Verification page to see how we check age and what parents can do at home.
Checking your own habits
3.1 Our self-assessment quiz is available from your account. It asks short questions about the way you play, takes a few minutes to complete, and your answers stay private.
3.2 Warning signs that gambling may be harming you include:
- spending more than you planned, or borrowing to gamble
- trying to win back losses
- keeping your gambling secret from friends or family
- feeling restless or irritable when you are not playing
- missing work, study or time with people close to you
Finding free help
4.1 These organisations offer free and confidential support:
- Alberta Health Services Addiction Helpline
- Gambling Therapy
- ConnexOntario
4.2 There is no need to close your Calgary Casino account before you contact them.
Changing your limits
5.1 When you lower a limit, the new figure applies instantly.
5.2 Raising or removing a limit takes effect only after 24 hours, so you have time to reconsider.
5.3 During those 24 hours, your current limit stays in place.
Using our tools
6.1 Deposit, wager and stake limits. Set caps on your deposits, your total wagering and the stake on each bet. When you reach a limit, it stays in place until it resets.
6.2 Time alerts and reality checks. Pick an interval for pop-up alerts that appear during your session with the time you have spent playing. You can then carry on or log out.
6.3 Take a break (cooling-off). Choose a break lasting between 24 hours and 6 weeks. While it runs, you cannot log in, deposit or play, and it cannot be ended early.
6.4 Self-exclusion and closing your account. If you need a longer break, email us to ask for self-exclusion or account closure. We block access and send no marketing for the full period you choose.
6.5 Self-assessment quiz. Take the quiz described in section 3 whenever you want an honest look at your play.
6.6 Identity and location checks before every deposit. Funds reach your account only after we have confirmed your identity, age and location.
